About WGTN LUX:
WGTN LUX light festival is a city-wide celebration of light in mid-winter Wellington. Coinciding with Matariki, the Maori New Year, the four day festival features stunning light installations and workshops that celebrate the beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand.
LUX 2013 is in Wellington from 21-24th June and features:
Urban Alive – 17 light installations around the city centre and waterfront.
BYOB – Bring Your Own Beamer flash mob (June 22) – a ‘potluck dinner of pixels and lights’ that will be taking place in a secret urban location (to be revealed!). Open to the public, this flash mob will be composed of artists and their works where their only requirement is to somehow, in some way, project light. Seating is limited to approx. 100 and this is bound to be an astounding event, so secure your tickets today! (http://wgtn-lux-festival.lilregie.com/). LUX is currently on the lookout for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable AMBASSADORS who will be the face of WGTN LUX 2013 and act as guides, way-finders, art supervisors, etc. mainly during the Urban Alive bit of the festival (which will be from 5PM-11PM from 21-24 of June). While we’re really stoked for how big LUX is going to be this year, we will need your help to make it run as beautifully as possible! This is a great chance to meet and mingle with like-minded people: artists, art-enthusiasts, students and professionals from Wellington and beyond. Fill out the following form if interested: goo.gl/u9Pf2. Email any questions or concerns to volunteer@lux.org.nz.
